This role is responsible for understanding business needs, documenting requirements, analyzing current processes, analyzing complex reinsurance data, and supporting the design and enhancement of Reinsurance platform capabilities. • Partner with Finance stakeholders to understand business needs, process gaps, and improvement opportunities.
  • Translate business requirements into clear user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional specifications aligned with Agile product priorities.
  • Own the creation of Epics, Features, and User Stories, ensuring they meet the INVEST criteria (Independent, Negotiable, Valuable, Estimable, Small, Testable).
  • Evaluate current reinsurance workflows and identify opportunities to streamline reinsurance processes, increase automation, efficiency improvements, and enhance internal controls.

  • Support development of test scripts and execution of business scenario testing.
  • Assist in coordinating Reinsurance/Finance‑led QA and UAT, ensuring clear defect tracking and resolution.
  • Participate in Reinsurance release reviews, assess impacts, and recommend feature adoption with the Product Owner and functional team.
Vendor & Support Coordination
  • Partner & support vendor management activities related to the reinsurance application, including upgrades, integrations, and issue resolution.
  • Help reduce external support reliance by strengthening internal process knowledge and documentation.
Governance, Documentation & Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain clear documentation of requirements, process flows, functional decisions, and testing outcomes.
  • Partner with Product Owners and delivery teams to contribute business analysis expertise during backlog refinement, sprint planning, and other SAFe ceremonies, ensuring alignment, clarity, and readiness for execution.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and process optimization, recommending enhancements for backlog prioritization.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years in a Business Analyst role, specifically within the Insurance or Reinsurance sector. Experience in 3rd party Reinsurance systems is a plus.
  • Extensive hands‑on experience in Reinsurance, with a strong emphasis on Assumed & Direct Business within a property & casualty insurance environment: Treaty vs. Facultative reinsurance and Proportional vs. Non‑Proportional structures, Premium administration (GWP, NWP, Taxes and commissions), Claims Management, Retrocession, Regulatory Reporting & Compliance (Schedule F, Bordereau Management).
  • Experience translating business needs into requirements, user stories, and process documentation.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and testing skills.
  • Ability to work independently within a lean, fast‑paced structure.
