Job summary

Thinkbox Technology Group seeks a Business Analyst in the Los Angeles area to support technology initiatives and business solutions. You will gather requirements, map processes, and help govern projects, including budgeting and reporting.

You will partner with stakeholders, technical teams, and leadership, develop BRDs/FRDs, user stories, and SOPs, and support UAT and governance activities. Hybrid work requires three onsite days weekly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 5+ years of business analysis experience preferred.
• Experience documenting BRDs/FRDs, user stories, SOPs, and business cases.
• Experience with governance, budgeting, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and maintenance of BRDs/FRDs, user stories, guides, SOPs, and business cases.
• Create process maps and workflow diagrams with Visio; ensure accuracy and stakeholder alignment.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather requirements and document current/future state processes.
• Support UAT including test case development and defect tracking; ensure solutions meet requirements.
• Participate in project governance, portfolio prioritization, and budgeting for technology initiatives.
• Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using Power BI to inform decision-making.

Business Analyst (Must reside in the Los Angeles Area near 90037)

We are an international premium consulting company seeking a Business Analyst to support technology initiatives and business solutions in the Greater Los Angeles area. The Business Analyst partners with business stakeholders, technical teams, and project leadership to gather and document requirements, analyze business processes, support testing and governance, and develop reporting that informs business decisions.

This is a full-time hybrid position requiring at least three days onsite each week in the Los Angeles area.

Job Responsibilities

Requirements and Documentation

• Lead the development, review, and maintenance of Business Requirements Documents (BRDs), Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs), user stories, user guides, functional design documents, policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), business process workflows, and business cases.
• Develop and maintain process maps and workflow diagrams using Microsoft Visio; ensure documents are accurate, consistent, and aligned with stakeholder needs.

Stakeholder Coordination and Business Analysis

• Facilitate stakeholder meetings, workshops, and interviews to conduct needs assessments and gather business and functional requirements, process flows, and use-case scenarios.
• Analyze and document current-state and future-state business processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.

User Acceptance Testing

• Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including test case development, test execution coordination, defect tracking, and resolution management.
• Coordinate with project teams and business users to validate solutions against approved requirements and support implementation readiness.

Project Governance and Financial Planning

• Participate in project intake, portfolio prioritization, and governance processes by preparing project charters, business cases, project briefs, and effort-sizing assessments.
• Collaborate with business and department leaders during annual budgeting and planning to identify, justify, and secure appropriate OPEX and CAPEX funding for technology initiatives and business solutions.

Reporting and Performance Analysis

• Develop, analyze, and maintain operational and executive dashboards, reports, and performance metrics using Power BI and other reporting tools.
• Present data and insights to stakeholders to support operational performance monitoring and data-driven decision-making.

Supervisory Responsibility

• This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, exempt-level position. The Business Analyst has a standard work week, but may be required to work evenings and weekends to deliver urgent client deliverables.

Travel

This position may require up to 25% travel.

Qualifications

Experience and Education

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five or more years of relevant business analysis experience preferred, ideally supporting technology initiatives.
• Experience with requirements documentation, process mapping, UAT, and stakeholder facilitation.
• Experience with project governance, business case development, OPEX/CAPEX planning, and reporting preferred.

Skills and Abilities

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Visio, and Power BI.
• Strong written and verbal communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to translate complex business needs into clear functional requirements and process documentation.
• Strong analytical thinking, organization, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively while balancing multiple deadlines.
• Familiarity with Agile or Waterfall project methodologies and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps is preferred.
