Sharp Decisions seeks a seasoned WMS SME for the Parts Center in Torrance, CA. The role is onsite four days per week, supporting project managers and teams with IT tasks, guidance to WMS users, and handling large-scale system enhancements and SOX compliant processes.

The candidate will analyze business requirements, design and implement test plans, coordinate deliveries, and ensure documentation and warranty support. Strong AS/400, RPG IV, CL, Aldon, Python, MQ, and FTP skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Functional expertise in WMS PkMS v2003.
• Technical expertise in AS400 technologies (RPG IV, CL).
• Experience with Aldon, DBU, and Python.
• Knowledge of MQ and FTP integrations.
• Understanding of retail order fulfillment and automotive service parts.

Responsabilités

Job Responsibilities

• Serve as the Warehouse Management System (WMS) Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Parts Center applications, supporting the Project Manager and/or Team Manager with IT-related tasks and activities.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Parts Center WMS end users and stakeholders.
• Support production issues, system enhancements, and large-scale projects.
• Analyze and document business requirements and manage work items from initiation through completion.
• Gather requirements, conduct detailed analysis and functional design, develop and execute unit, integration, system, and user acceptance test plans, coordinate implementations, and provide documentation and warranty support.
• Define architectural solutions that meet application and business requirements.
• Provide regular status updates to the Project Manager or Team Lead as required.
• Allocate effort across key responsibilities as follows:
  • Analysis and design: approximately 30–40%.
  • Development, coding, testing, implementation, and warranty support: approximately 30–40%.
  • Architectural solutioning: approximately 20–40%.
• Administer the Aldon Change Management tool.
• Ensure WMS processes and systems comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) regulations.
• Coordinate technical support for AS400 communication protocols and connected systems, including handheld scanners, voice systems, and Zebra printers.

Project Overview

The candidate will serve as the Parts Center WMS SME, supporting production operations, system enhancements, and projects.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

• Functional expertise in WMS PkMS v2003.
• Technical expertise in AS400 technologies, including RPG IV programming, CL programming, and AS400 file/database configuration, with at least 8 years of experience.
• Ability to understand and analyze AS400 journals.
• Experience with Aldon, DBU, and/or Python.
• Good understanding of MQ and FTP integrations.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations related to retail ordering and order fulfillment, preferably within the automotive service parts industry.
• Knowledge of supply chain processes, including inventory management, order processing, and distribution center operations.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic understanding of Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Yard Management Systems (YMS), and Labor Management functions is an advantage.
• Advanced ability to develop clear, well-written business requirements.
• Advanced ability to prepare functional designs and technical documentation.
• Advanced ability to create effective test plans and test scripts.
