Job summary

Kforce Inc. is seeking a results-driven Financial Analyst to analyze financial impacts of management decisions and support capital planning in a regulated environment.

You will aggregate data using SAP and financial records to assist in rate case requests and coordinate financial data for Engineering functions. As a key liaison to Operations, Finance and Regulatory teams, you will translate financial information into actionable insights, build financial models, and support planning, commentary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration
• 5+ years of experience in accounting, finance, engineering or operations
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to function in a team environment
• Exceptional communication skills and the ability to influence, inspire and negotiate effectively
• Willingness and demonstrated skills at contributing ideas and taking action, which reinforces company success
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills
• Experience with SAP and current versions of Microsoft Office products

Job description

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and projects financial impacts associated with management decisions and changes in the business environment for use by other departments, senior management and agencies external to the business unit


• Aggregates data using SAP and financial records to assist in completing data analysis in support of capital planning activities and creates and coordinates financial records to support Engineering functions and rate case requests


• Acts as a key liaison to Operations, Finance and Regulatory functions to ensure the business needs of each area are balanced and integrated


• Gather relevant and accurate financial information, interpret and discuss with engineering management to create actionable business intelligence which leads to improved and optimized decisions and performance


• Use SAP, analytical, financial models, and spreadsheet skills to support capital planning and reporting, benchmarking efforts for project estimating and resource planning, cost comparisons, productivity/efficiency studies and variance analyses to communicate with other business unit requests as necessary


• Develop financial models (e.g. resource allocation, regulatory testimony support, rate case schedules, settlement negotiations, future financing, and impact of accounting issues)


• Supports planning and rate case filings by establishing accurate activity and/or unit costs through financial analysis of historical expense and/or capital expenditures and related activity/units as necessary


• Prepare various types of financial analysis projects for review (e.g. risk analysis, internal rate of return, lease vs. purchase, discounted cash flows, revenue requirements, utility comparisons, budget evaluations)

Requirements

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
