Job summary

Esri is seeking a Business Analyst to support the Professional Services division by applying business analytics to analyze processes, document system requirements, and report on performance. You will collaborate with experienced colleagues, help define data dictionaries, and contribute to dashboards and reporting initiatives to drive client success.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years of professional experience in a business analyst capacity supporting BI.
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes.
  • Experience delivering multiple projects, reports, and initiatives on time.
  • Translate business requirements into meaningful solutions with guidance.
  • Engage with Professional Services staff and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Develop a limited scope of project charters, current state designs, define key inputs and outputs, and support the development of data dictionaries for process improvements and reporting efforts across the Professional Services division
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with Professional Services staff to improve and support business initiatives
  • Engage with project managers, technical advisors, analysts, and business users to understand needs and deliver information products
  • Partner with experienced colleagues to design, develop, and deliver process, reporting and system enhancements
  • Support requirements gathering through interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, and data analysis
  • Develop and maintain regular weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting at team and department levels
  • Support continuous improvement of workflows and data visualization tools including dashboards and self-service reporting capabilities

Overview

A Business Analyst will work directly with more experienced Professional Services staff to enable business and operational success through the application of business analytics knowledge. As a Business Analyst, you will provide support on the analysis and documentation of processes, system requirements, and reporting needs. In addition, you will participate in and serve the Esri community with project, initiative, technology, and operation efforts.

Our Professional Services Division is the consulting and implementation arm of Esri. Staff are strategically partnered throughout the organization, providing significant connections among leadership, our staff, and the capabilities that drive our business practice. We break ground in new markets, push the technology envelope, and ultimately deliver transformational solutions to high profile clients worldwide. The Professional Services organization is comprised of nearly 760 talented business and technical professionals who strive every day to help our users be successful.

Esri has a Relocation Assistance Program and can provide support with relocating to the Redlands, CA area for this position.

Responsibilities
  • Develop a limited scope of project charters, current state designs, define key inputs and outputs, and support the development of data dictionaries for process improvements and reporting efforts across the Professional Services division
  • Develop and maintain key relationships with Professional Services staff to improve and support business initiatives
  • Engage with project managers, technical advisors, technical experts, analysts, and business users within Professional Services to understand business requirements and information needs and deliver meaningful information products
  • Partner with experienced colleagues to design, develop, and deliver process, reporting and system enhancements
  • Support senior colleagues in requirements gathering efforts through interviews, workshops, document analysis, surveys, business process descriptions, use cases, and data analysis
  • Develop and maintain regular weekly/monthly/quarterly/annual reporting at team and department levels
  • Support the continuous improvement of workflows and data visualization tools to ensure they drive business results, including dashboards, reports, and self-service reporting capabilities
Requirements
  • 1+ years of professional experience in a business analyst capacity supporting business intelligence
  • Ability to analyze and document complex business processes
  • Proven ability to deliver multiple, simultaneous projects, reports, and initiatives on time
  • With guidance from others, evaluate and translate business requirements and needs into meaningful and impactful solutions
  • Engage and build stable working relationships with Professional Services staff and stakeholders
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
Recommended Qualifications
  • Working knowledge of Salesforce, Tableau, SQL Server, SAP, Power BI, or similar analytical reporting tools
  • Experience working in a Professional Services organization
  • Master's degree in Information Science, Management Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field
