Job summary

Galen College of Nursing seeks a hands-on Business Analyst for our Enterprise Applications team. You will gather requirements, design how the solution looks and works, and build dashboards and reports that come out of the system.

You will bridge institutional stakeholders with technical teams supporting Ellucian Colleague, CRM platforms, and enterprise reporting, while facilitating sessions, writing user stories, and validating data through SQL queries.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in business analysis or enterprise applications
• Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI and SSRS
• Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL/SQL Server/Oracle)
• Experience creating wireframes or mockups and applying UI/UX thinking to system design
• Ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders who can’t clearly articulate needs
• Experience documenting functional and non-functional requirements
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum with user stories, acceptance criteria, epics, backlog
• Experience participating in system implementations or technology projects
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple priorities independently

Business Analyst – Enterprise Applications

We're hiring a Business Analyst for our Enterprise Applications team. This is a hands-on, technical BA role — you'll gather requirements, design how the solution looks and works, and build the reports and dashboards that come out of it. You'll sit between institutional stakeholders and our technical teams supporting Ellucian Colleague, CRM platforms, and enterprise reporting.

What You'll Do

• Elicit and document functional and non-functional requirements — including digging past "make it like the old one" to what stakeholders actually need
• Facilitate requirements-gathering sessions with academic, administrative, and technical stakeholders
• Write user stories, acceptance criteria, workflows, and process documentation
• Create wireframes and mockups that translate business concepts into usable screens and interfaces
• Build and validate reports and dashboards in Power BI and SSRS
• Write and troubleshoot SQL queries against enterprise databases to validate data and investigate reporting discrepancies
• Serve as liaison between functional users and technical teams through the full project lifecycle
• Support system implementations, upgrades, testing, UAT, and post-implementation activities
• Document requirements for integrations and data exchange between systems
• Assist in evaluating applications, vendors, and technology solutions

Required Qualifications

• Three or more years in business analysis or enterprise applications
• Hands-on experience building reports and dashboards in Power BI and SSRS
• Working knowledge of SQL; experience querying relational databases (Postgres, SQL Server, or Oracle)
• Experience creating wireframes or mockups and applying UI/UX thinking to system design
• Demonstrated ability to elicit requirements from stakeholders who can't clearly articulate what they need
• Experience documenting both functional and non-functional requirements
• Working knowledge of Agile/Scrum — user stories, acceptance criteria, epics, backlog
• Experience participating in system implementations or technology projects
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to manage multiple priorities independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SSIS or other ETL/data integration tools
• Experience with Ellucian Colleague or a similar SIS
• Experience with Ellucian CRM Recruit or CRM Advise
• Higher-education experience, or knowledge of Academic Records, Admissions, Advising, or Financial Aid processes
• Familiarity with APIs, integrations, and data exchange concepts
• Experience with Hyland OnBase or similar document management
• Experience with enterprise system implementations, upgrades, or vendor evaluations
