Job summary

Navy Federal Credit Union is seeking a Business Operations Analyst to optimize performance by analyzing current operations and forecasting future needs. You will gather data, develop budgeting insights, and create reports that drive strategic decisions across multiple teams.

The role requires 2–5 years of analytics experience, strong problem-solving skills, and proficiency with data querying and reporting tools.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in business and operational strategy, planning and analysis.
• Basic understanding of business and operating environment.
• Working knowledge of data querying, reporting, forecasting, analysis and operations research.
• Research, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Effective problem resolution skills including determining root cause, scope and scale of issues.
• Effective word processing and spreadsheet software skills.
• Effective project management skill to lead projects and/or initiatives of small to medium scope.

Responsibilities

• Conduct analyses and reporting in support of general business operations and planning activities including budget development, equipment availability and other capabilities.
• Assess requirements for internal business processes, ensuring integration across teams and business units and compatibility with organizational strategic goals.
• Document business processes and workflows; identify inefficiencies or areas for improvement.
• Analyze and evaluate business data to identify solutions to basic business problems; use quantitative analysis methodology to perform data, cost and benefit, and/or process measurement analysis.
• Analyze processes and workflows to understand value chain, input/output, to improve and/or automate business performance.
• Create reports that show key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement into current operations, and display root cause analysis of problems and value chain, input/output, to improve and/or automate business performance.
• Conduct analyses of vendor invoices for validation of accuracy, resolution of discrepancies, and submission to Accounts Payable for payment processing.
• Perform calculations for annual funding of invoices per vendor based on volume projections, contractual pricing, and other factors, as applicable.
• Prepare requisitions for funding of new and existing contracts aligning with the department's established budget

Overview

Growing an understanding of business needs and objectives. Solve a range of mostly straightforward problems with some increased scope and complexity. Developing professional with basic skill set and proficiency with procedures and analysis techniques.

Desired Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Business Administration, Finance or related field
• Knowledge of invoice processing of third-party vendors
• Knowledge of ERP applications relating to Invoices, Requisitions, and Purchase Orders
• Familiarity of financial and accounting principles, practices, and methodologies
• Experience in establishing effective communication with internal and external contacts for research and/or resolution purposes
