Job summary

Rainier Recruiting seeks a Business Systems & Process Analyst to document, improve, and maintain company-wide processes and systems. You will work across departments, map information flows, and develop practical improvements with a focus on a low-code platform while supporting ERP, BI, intranet, workflow, LMS, and cloud hosting.

You will bridge business users and technical staff to document requirements, coordinate changes, verify results, and support compliance documentation across platforms.

Qualifications

  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement, systems administration, operations analysis, or a similar role.
  • Strong ability to interview employees and translate how work is actually performed into clear, accurate documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn unfamiliar business applications, databases, workflows, and integrations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including reconciling written procedures, system logic, and actual behavior.
  • Strong written communication, organization, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Document and improve business processes and workflows across departments.
  • Maintain documentation of low-code platforms, ERP, BI, intranet and other systems.
  • Inventory pipelines, definitions, and dependencies; support testing and troubleshooting.
  • Evaluate configurations to ensure processes and controls are followed; coordinate testing and LMS updates.
  • Support compliance documentation and remediation tracking.

Pay: $80K - $100K annually

Position Summary The Business Systems & Process Analyst helps the company understand, document, improve, and maintain company-wide business processes and systems. Working across departments, this role documents current processes, maps information flows, identifies gaps or inefficiencies, and develops practical improvements. The position has a significant focus on a low-code application platform while also supporting the company's ERP system, a business intelligence platform, an intranet/document management platform, a workflow automation platform, a learning management system, a process-mapping tool, a cloud hosting platform, AI/LLM tools, and other applications. It serves as a bridge between business users and technical resources to document requirements, recommend solutions, coordinate changes, and verify results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Process Documentation and Improvement (30%) Meet with employees to gather information on existing workflows, document roles, inputs, outputs, approvals, exceptions, and control mechanisms; maintain detailed process documentation and flow diagrams Compare written procedures with actual practice and identify unclear ownership, duplicate work, unnecessary manual steps, and control weaknesses Develop recommended future-state processes with the employees and managers responsible for the work
  • Low-Code Platform and Business Systems Documentation (25%) Document the company's low-code application environment, including applications, tables, relationships, key fields, formulas, forms, reports, roles, groups, and other significant configuration Inventory automated pipelines, including triggers, actions, integrations, dependencies, ownership, and failure handling, and assist with requirements, testing, and troubleshooting
  • Systems and Data-Flow Documentation (15%) Maintain a company-wide inventory of significant applications, including each system's purpose, business owner, technical owner, major users, integrations, and dependencies Create and maintain diagrams showing how information moves among company systems and help reduce reliance on undocumented individual knowledge
  • Process Controls and System Adoption (15%) Evaluate system configurations to ensure they support intended processes and controls, and identify potential gaps or weaknesses that could lead to unintentional deviations from standard procedures, including where employees can unintentionally bypass required approvals or steps Coordinate testing, communication, and learning-management updates, and follow up to confirm processes are being used as intended
  • Compliance and Documentation Support (10%) Support maintaining compliance documentation for a compliance management platform and other regulatory requirements, ensuring accurate and up-to-date system inventories, control documentation, access records, supporting evidence, and remediation tracking Coordinate with IT, management, and other control owners to ensure documentation accurately reflects actual practice
  • Other Duties as Assigned (5%) Perform other duties as required Keep current on company platforms, training, expenses, and calendars Maintain compliance with company policies, safety requirements, and applicable customer site requirements
Requirements
  • Experience in business analysis, process improvement, systems administration, operations analysis, or a similar role Strong ability to interview employees and translate how work is actually performed into clear, accurate documentation Demonstrated ability to quickly learn unfamiliar business applications, databases, workflows, and integrations Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to reconcile written procedures, system logic, and actual employee behavior Strong written communication, organization, and documentation skills Ability to work independently across multiple departments and follow projects through completion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, information systems, accounting, operations, data analytics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience with a low-code application platform (such as QuickBase), a workflow automation platform, an intranet/document management platform, a business intelligence platform, an ERP system, or similar business systems
  • Experience with a process-mapping tool and a learning management system
  • Familiarity with SQL, APIs, database concepts, data mapping, and system integrations
  • Experience with SOC 2, compliance management platforms, cybersecurity, compliance, control documentation, or evidence collection
  • Experience with AI/LLM-enabled workflows, project management, or change management
