Job summary

EPMA is seeking a hands-on Business Analyst to support a data-intensive, short-term project based in Houston. You will review large data sets (≈100,000 lines) and translate complex information into clear business language for stakeholders.

The role focuses on execution, working under direction from the Project Manager and delivering assigned workload to completion onsite five days a week for six months.

Overview:

Our client is looking for Business Analysts to support a short-term, data-intensive project. The team will work with a significant volume of existing data — approximately 100,000 lines — and engage with Business and IT owners to validate, organize and translate that information into a format that is easier for stakeholders to understand and use.

This is a hands‑on execution role rather than a high-level strategic BA position. The successful candidates need to be comfortable taking direction from the Project Manager and then independently driving their assigned workload through to completion.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and work through large volumes of data, primarily using Excel.
• Organize, cleanse, validate and structure information to improve its usability.
• Translate technical terminology and complex information into clear business language.
• Engage directly with Business and IT stakeholders to gather information, clarify requirements and resolve data questions.
• Conduct frequent stakeholder calls and meetings to progress assigned work.
• Maintain accuracy and data integrity while working to project deadlines.
• Work independently with limited day‑to‑day supervision.
• Track progress and provide clear status reporting to the Project Manager, including a formal weekly reporting meeting.
• Identify inconsistencies, gaps or areas requiring clarification and work with the appropriate owners to resolve them.

Ideal Background:

A hands‑on Business Analyst or data-focused BA with strong Excel, data analysis, stakeholder management and communication skills. The right person should be comfortable operating between technical and non-technical teams and have a track record of taking complex information and making it understandable and actionable.

Project Details:

6 months, based in Houston and onsite 5 days per week.
