Under the guidance of the Associate Registrar for Technology and Compliance, the Business and Information Analyst provides functional expertise and technical support for the Student Administration section of the University’s Student Information System and software solutions used in the department. The position provides testing services for patches, upgrades, and other program changes to the system and technical expertise for implementing and managing software solutions in the department. This position supports academic quality in our teaching and learning environment and participates in department strategic planning meetings as a member of the leadership team. The Business and Information Analyst supports internal technical and reporting needs for leadership and functional areas of the department, and ad-hoc reports for colleagues campus wide. This position works to improve business processes across functional areas by generating reports and queries, analyzing data, troubleshooting system errors, disseminating best practices to keep the student record accurate, and maintaining the comprehensive Production Calendar for the department that keeps staff on task meeting all deadlines. This position works in conjunction with the office’s other Business and Information Analyst to support external technical and reporting needs by serving as a technical/functional student record expert and resource campus wide. Externally they support orientation, academic advising, and faculty ad-hoc reports. This position supports excellence in student services at every opportunity.
