Job summary

The Harbert College of Business at Auburn University seeks an Academic Advisor to guide a large student population in course planning, academic actions, and professional engagement. The advisor will present on requirements and expectations, work with partners, and mentor other advisors in a collaborative office environment.

The role requires professionalism, strong communication, and teamwork to support student success and align advising with university policies and program requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures in advising or counseling.
• Commitment to and track record of working with underrepresented students.
• Experience advising students in an educational setting, preferably with a large student population.
• Experience with Banner, Kronos, Advise Assist, DegreeWorks or other student/client platforms/CRM.

Responsibilities

• Advising students in all matters related to academic and curriculum decisions.
• Interpreting university policies, procedures, and curriculum to students, faculty, and staff.
• Clearing students for graduation and certifying minors.
• Coordinating registration procedures with campus partners and advising colleagues.
• Coordinating advising for student cohorts and orientation evaluations.
• Maintaining student records and supporting student self-awareness through analysis and guidance.
