Job summary

Bentley University seeks an Undergraduate Academic Advisor within the Undergraduate Academic Services (UAS) team to support student success. The advisor provides proactive, developmentally based academic advising, guides course planning, major exploration, and resource navigation, and promotes belonging across Bentley’s campus community.

Collaborating with faculty and staff, the advisor maintains accurate advising records under FERPA and contributes to programs, assessments, and student success

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in higher education, student affairs, counseling, education, or related field.
• 1 year of experience in academic advising or related higher education field preferred.
• Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, and organizational skills.
• Experience working with diverse student populations and commitment to inclusion.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with advising systems (Workday, Banner, Insight, Zoom).
• Knowledge of NACADA values is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-depth academic counseling and developmental advising, maintaining accurate session records.
• Develop and participate in advising programs and initiatives for Bentley’s undergraduate community.
• Maintain knowledge of curriculum, policies, and advising processes; support student petitions and administrative duties.
• Collaborate with faculty, staff, and campus partners to connect students with resources.
• Contribute to office operations and Advisor-on-Duty coverage.
