Job summary

PPG in Huntsville, Alabama is seeking a 2nd Shift Production Operator (Busbar) to ensure quality products for customers. You will read part and tool drawings, perform precision measurements, and set up tooling and fixtures.

Role requires familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and gauges; you will inspect machined units, align machines, and support CNC programming activities as needed. Overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Be able to read and interpret part and tool drawings.
• Understand drawings as they apply to parts or tooling machined.
• Familiarity with precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers and gauges.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret part and tool drawings with the ability to apply to parts or tooling machined.
• Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, scales and gauges for dimensional verification.
• Inspect units and tooling after machining to ensure quality compliance.
• Understand five axis machine motion and interpret axial tool movement per machine code.
• Set up machines with clean tombstones/fixtures and verify tool condition.
• Use machine codes (G/M) and MDIs to manipulate the tool during setup and operations.
• Verify programs and provide feedback for issues in programming.
• Read and follow setup sheets and dimensional aids as given by CNC Programmer or Supervisor.
