Job summary

The COMET, operated by RATP Dev USA, invites applications for an entry-level Bus Stop Technician in Columbia, SC. This role supports the maintenance department, assists technicians, and helps keep buses and facilities clean, safe, and well-maintained.

Responsibilities include vehicle washing, fueling, seating repairs, data entry of work orders, and time/materials tracking. A Class B CDL with passenger endorsement is required along with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED required.
  • Must have a valid Class B Commercial Driver License with passenger endorsements.
  • Driving record clean with no DUI in the last 10 years and no major felonies.
  • Interest in the automotive or transit maintenance field.

Responsibilities

  • Washes vehicles and cleans bus stops and facilities.
  • Provides fuel, cleaning, and basic maintenance assistance to technicians.
  • Records time and materials used for each assignment.
  • Supports maintenance staff and ensures safety in the work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor or maintenance manager.

Mission

Job Summary: The Bus Stop Technician supports the maintenancedepartment and mechanics as follows in the description. This position reportsto the Maintenance Manager at The COMET location: 3613 Lucius Road Columbia, SC29201.

Profile

Essential Functions / ProcessResponsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary:

  • Provides supportto the Maintenance Department and Technicians (in accordance with establishedschedules)
  • Vehiclewashing
  • Vehicleor facility cleaning
  • Vehiclefueling
  • Vehicleseat repair
  • Maintains a cleanand safe work environment and brings any unsafe practices or conditions to the attention of Supervisor and/or Manager.
  • Ensure all busstops are properly cleaned and maintained in accordance with RATP Dev USA/TheCOMET standards.
  • Records time andmaterials used for each assignment.
  • Providesautomotive repair and maintenance assistance to technical staff as assigned.
  • Other Dutiesassigned by Maintenance Manager and/or Supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Interest in the automotive industry.
  • Knowledge of requirements related to safe working practices and conditions andmaintenance of a safe work environment.
  • Basic knowledge of information technology and software programs to enter dataand retrieve work orders.
  • Valid appropriate licensesand/or certification required to operate company vehicles in assigned location.

Preferred Education,Residency, and Experience:

  • High School or GEDrequired.
  • Must have a validClass B Commercial Driver License, with passenger endorsements.
  • Must demonstrate astable work history. Applicants should be prepared to provide additional employerinformation in cases where previous employment cannot be otherwise verified.

Driving Record

  • Driving recordsmust not reflect moving violations within the last 3 years.
  • Have a safedriving record with no DUI conviction during the past ten (10) years, verifiedby a third-party multi-state record check and no felony convictions for violentcrimes.
  • Criminal andPre-Employment Background Record.

Pay Rate $17.50/HR

Schedule 7:00 am to 3:30 pm Monday-Friday
