Job summary

SUNY Cortland is seeking a Bus Security Assistant to help ensure the safety and security of the University’s downtown shuttlebus on Friday and Saturday nights from 10:30pm to 3:30am during the academic semesters. The hourly obligation is 10 hours per week.

The position is part-time (25% FTE) and temporary, ending 12/31/2025. A New York State Driver’s License, ability to stand, walk, or ride in a moving vehicle, and a pre-employment physical are required.

Qualifications

• Must be able to stand/walk/ride in a moving vehicle.
• Good communication and writing skills.
• Physically able to respond to physical disturbances.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical.
• Position may be designated 55 b/c and is subject to verification of applicant eligibility.
