Job summary

Manor Independent School District Transportation in Manor, Texas, is seeking a Bus Monitor to support the driver in providing safe, orderly transportation for students with disabilities.

Starting immediately, you will help supervise students on the bus, assist with boarding and alighting, and monitor behavior while following established procedures. No prior experience required, with flexible hours and daily communication with teachers and parents.

Qualifications

• Ability to work well with children with disabilities.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to manage student behavior.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedure.
• Ability to operate safety equipment and adaptive equipment.

Responsibilities

• Lift and carry students with disabilities on and off the bus according to their individual needs.
• Supervise students as they board and leave bus and cross the street.
• Learn and adapt to each student’s special medical, physical, communicative, and emotional needs.
• Manage student behavior and report student discipline problems to appropriate administrators.
• Communicate with teachers and parents on a daily basis regarding student behavior while on the bus.
• Become familiar with and follow procedures established by transportation and special education offices.
