Job summary

Pocatello Fire Department seeks a Bus Fueler to perform fueling and fluid checks on transit vehicles and equipment. You will inspect equipment for readiness and assist mechanics, drivers, and dispatchers across the shop and fueling stations.

The role involves directing bus washers, handling fare box cash, and maintaining logs, with emphasis on safety and proper procedures in a dynamic shop environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Class B CDL with airbrake and passenger endorsements required.
• One year of experience preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs fueling and fluid level checks on Department equipment and vehicles in fueling station and shop.
• Assists mechanics by referring problems found and potential repairs.
• Directs bus washers/cleaners.
• Empties fare boxes and turns in cash to administrative office.
• Assists drivers, mechanics, dispatchers, and Department staff; drives buses to shop and repair facilities.
• Maintains fueling and inspection logs.
• Follows City policies and safety practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
