Job summary

Cathay Express Transportation is hiring drivers to transport adult clients across Dutchess/Ulster and surrounding areas. You will ensure safe vehicle operation and reliable route performance while keeping riders safe throughout each trip.

Responsibilities include safe transport on assigned routes, performing pre/post inspections, assisting with loading/unloading, working with attendants for special needs, operating wheelchair lifts, and maintaining clear communication with dispatch.

Qualifications

• Valid New York State CDL with N1 endorsement.
• Must satisfy New York State Article 19-A.
• Able to pass medical, drug/alcohol testing, fingerprinting, and background checks.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients safely per routes and schedules.
• Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
• Assist with client loading/unloading and follow release instructions.
• Support clients with special needs with matrons/attendants.
• Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices.
• Report accidents, delays, or route concerns to dispatch.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness and service readiness.
• Attend orientation, safety, and defensive-driving training.
• Maintain professional appearance and courteous attitude.

$24-$26 per hour, 30 hours guaranteed each week! $1,500 signing bonus!

Position Summary

Cathay Express Transportation is hiring drivers to transport adult clients attending adult day programs throughout Dutchess/Ulster and surrounding areas. Drivers are responsible for safe vehicle operation, reliable route performance, and the safety of every rider on board.

Responsibilities

• Transport clients safely according to approved routes and schedules.


• Complete required pre-trip and post-trip inspections, including checking every seat after each run.


• Assist with client loading and unloading and follow all authorized-release instructions.


• Work with assigned matrons or attendants to support clients with special needs.


• Operate wheelchair lifts and secure mobility devices when assigned and trained.


• Maintain communication with dispatch and immediately report accidents, delays, breakdowns, client incidents, or route concerns.


• Complete required mileage, attendance, time, inspection, and incident records.


• Maintain a clean, orderly, and service ready vehicle.


• Attend required orientation, safety, defensive-driving, and refresher training.


• Maintain a professional appearance and courteous attitude with students, families, program personnel, and the public

Qualifications

• Valid New York State CDL appropriate for the assigned vehicle, with minimum N1 endorsement.


• Must satisfy New York State Article 19-A.


• Acceptable driving record and current driver abstract.


• Ability to pass required medical examinations, drug and alcohol testing, fingerprinting, and background checks.


• Ability to receive participating program approval before assignment.


• Reliable attendance for morning and afternoon assignments.


• Special-needs transportation experience is preferred, but we will provide training.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to safely enter and exit the vehicle, conduct vehicle inspections, operate accessibility equipment, assist during emergencies, and satisfy required medical and physical-performance standards.
