Job summary

Bourbon County School District Bus Garage in Paris, Kentucky is seeking a Bus Monitor to support the Transport Department in ensuring safe, orderly bus operations for students. This role reports to the Director of Transportation and helps monitor student behavior, loading/unloading, and compliance with district safety policies.

The Bus Monitor will work closely with drivers, teachers, and school staff, attend training, and perform related duties as needed to maintain a secure transportation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of safe practices concerning school bus transportation.
• Ability to monitor and assist students during bus operation.

Responsibilities

• Assist the bus driver in maintaining discipline on school bus; monitor and assist students while bus is in operation.
• Consult with and assist bus driver in documentation of student information, recordkeeping and completing route surveys.
• Assist parents and school personnel with safe loading and unloading of students.
• Communicate with classroom aides, teachers, principals, and parents concerning student background, medical problems and behavior as appropriate.
• Maintain current knowledge of Emergency Evacuation procedures.
• Attend Professional Development meetings and training courses.
• Perform related duties as assigned.

JOB GOAL: To assist bus driver in ensuring the safe transportation of children.
