Job summary

D/T Carson Enterprises, Inc. seeks a Mechanic Helper to service and overhaul a fleet of buses, coaches, and related vehicles. You will plan procedures, lift and dismantle components, and perform brake, suspension, wiring, and body repairs as part of a team in a busy shop.

The position offers weekly pay and year-round work with opportunities for career advancement, medical benefits, and a 401K plan. A drug-free workplace with pre-employment screenings is in place.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of computer software associated with specific diesel engines.
• Strong electrical knowledge is a plus.
• Possession of a mechanic's tool set.
• Ability to work under minimum supervision while working in a team-oriented environment.
• Automotive/Diesel training or certification is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure under strict deadlines.
• Effective verbal and written communication.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience and courtesy.

Responsibilities

• Plans work procedure.
• Lifts vehicles to access mechanical units.
• Removes and inspects engine, transmission or differential components.
• Disassembles and inspects parts for wear.
• Relines and adjusts brakes and suspensions; repairs leaks.
• Repairs body and fenders; welds and forges damaged parts.
• Replaces headlights, radios, heaters, mirrors and wipers.
• Performs additional cross-functional duties as requested by Production Supervisor.
