The Steamship Authority is seeking a skilled fleet mechanic in Massachusetts to perform preventive and corrective maintenance on buses and related equipment. Daily inspections and diagnostics will support safe, reliable service for the Steamship Authority’s fleet.

The role requires a strong background in gas/diesel mechanics, braking systems, engine diagnostics, and general repair of tires, doors, and front-end components. CDL preferred, readiness to lift 50+ lbs, and work in varying conditions.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Driver's license required, CDL preferred.
• Experience as a gas or diesel mechanic; electric bus experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on Steamship Authority vehicles and equipment.
• Conduct daily morning inspection of buses operating the schedule.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues on fleet vehicles.
