Job summary

Sacramento Regional Transit District is seeking a dedicated janitorial/maintenance worker to clean and service SacRT GO coaches and related vehicles. Responsibilities include interior/exterior cleaning, garage area upkeep, trash handling, and daily vehicle inspections.

The role may involve driving within yards and requires a Class B Passenger endorsement by day one, with the ability to obtain a full Class B license within 90 days; forklift certification is also needed or obtainable within 90

Qualifications

• Six (6) months of full-time janitorial and/or industrial cleaning experience or a role involving cleaning/maintenance of vehicles.
• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Possession of a Class B California Driver's Permit with Passenger endorsement on day one, with the ability to obtain a Class B Driver's License with Passenger endorsement within 90 days; Forklift Operator cert or ability to obtain within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, wash, and remove graffiti from bus interiors and exteriors.
• Clean garage floors, pits, and service areas.
• Empty and replace trash receptacles; move loads as needed.
• Perform daily vehicle inspections and report defects.
• Handle non-mechanical road calls and replace consumables/equipment as required.
• Operate fueling equipment and various cleaning machinery as trained.
• Possibly drive buses within service yards and between SacRT locations.
• Install/replace vandal guards and place advertisements in buses.
