Job summary

MATATRANSIT seeks a Facilities Maintenance Technician – Bus Maintenance to perform cleaning, servicing, and maintenance support for buses, facilities, and equipment. You will assist mechanics with vehicle prep, fueling, sanitation, and upkeep of the maintenance area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid driver’s license, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, or holidays. You will follow safety policies and communicate effectively with staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Perform general cleaning and upkeep in bus maintenance facility and service bays.
• Conduct visual inspections of bus interiors and exteriors for cleanliness and safety.
• Check vehicle fluids as directed (antifreeze, oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid).
• Fuel buses and other fleet vehicles as required.
• Clean and sanitize buses and fleet vehicles per sanitation standards.
• Steam clean engines and mechanical components.
• Maintain shop equipment and maintenance areas.
• Dispose of waste materials and keep bays and grounds clean.
• Patch surfaces and maintain shop areas as needed.
• Distribute sand or salt during inclement weather using MATA equipment.
• Pick up parts from warehouses or vendors using MATA vehicle.
• Support maintenance staff with general labor tasks.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support bus maintenance operations.
