Job Description
To provide safe and efficient transportation so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district's curriculum and extracurricular program.
Minimum Qualifications
- Must be 21 years of age or older
Training / License
- Must be insurable to drive district vehicles
- Hold a current CD License
- Ability to work with students, administration and community
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Good public relations skills
- Ability to pass a drug/alcohol test
Duties and Responsibilities
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
- Maintain discipline when students are on bus.
- Report undisciplined students to proper authority.
- Keep assigned bus clean.
- Adhere to the assigned schedule.
- Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
- Notify the proper authority in case of mechanical failure or lateness.
- Discharge students only at authorized stops.
- Exercise responsible leadership when on out-of-district school trips.
- Transport only authorized students.
- Report all accidents and complete required reports in a timely manner.
- Enforce regulations against smoking and eating on the bus.
- Communicate and work with co-workers and administration in a congenial manner.
- Maintain proper district attire.
- Work well under pressure.
- Have a positive attitude toward district policy.
- Ensure daily attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned.

Mental & Physical Demands / Environmental Factors
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Ability to work under pressure. Patience and tolerance. Repetitive hand motions, long periods of sitting, bending, stooping, driving, and ability to lift 40+ lbs. Common work area with various noise level. Exposure to rainy, wet, cold and hot weather. Vision abilities include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
