Job summary

Qualifications

• Must pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical.
• Ability to operate wheelchair lifts (electric and manual).
• English language skills required; bilingual desirable.
• Basic mathematical ability and good written/verbal communication.
• Personal computer and keyboarding skills.
• Must follow Board policies and district procedures.
• Must pass pre-employment background screenings.

Responsibilities

• Drive students safely to and from school following a set route.
• Maintain timely arrival and departure; ensure safe, orderly environment.
• Perform safety drills and review safety procedures with students.
• Communicate with supervisor, staff, parents, students and law enforcement.
• Maintain district assets: vehicle upkeep, interior/exterior cleaning, fueling.
• Maintain accurate records for reporting and incident documentation.
• Remain available for afterhours dispatch and assist bus drivers when needed.
• Promote confidentiality and professional conduct.
