Job summary

WeDriveU is seeking a Shuttle Driver/Tour Guide in Fremont, CA to operate an electric 62-passenger shuttle on pre-determined routes while serving as a tour guide on trips.

You will perform safety checks, assist riders, and coordinate with dispatch, delivering excellent customer service throughout the day. A CDL and DOT readiness are required for this permanent, full-time position, with benefits offered.

Job Description:

The Shuttle Driver/Tour guide is responsible for following safety protocol, schedules and pre-determined routes. The driver will also act as the tour guide throughout the trip. The vehicle used is open air and tows a trailer through narrow roadways. The shuttle holds 62 passengers, is electric and runs off batteries.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Exceptional attendance and punctuality
• Accurately complete vehicle safety checks and upscale any issues
• Compliance with all traffic laws, and federal and state transit regulations
• Interact with customers and our central dispatch team and managers in a professional manner
• Provide excellent customer service and support to all riders, i.e., answer questions about schedules, routes, transfer points, and delays
• Promptly report vehicle maintenance, road and route concerns, accidents, and other traffic disruptions using two-way radios or hands-free devices
• Additional duties and responsibilities may apply
• The drivers are responsible for plugging and and charging the vehicles at end of day

Skills Required and Physical Demands:

• Use route navigation apps, and other technology, including knowledge of area to pick up and drop off our customers
• Maintain electronic logs to track routes and incidents
• Ability to safely operate and drive without a break for a minimum period of one hour and forty-five minutes
• Ability to drive in fluctuating weather and terrain
• Flexible scheduled to work outside of regular days and shifts
• Comfortable working a split shift schedule
• Ability to lift 45 pounds or more to assist with loading and unloading ADA passengers

Education and Qualifications:

Hard Requirements:

• Commercial driver's license (A or B)
• Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug test, and background check

Preferred Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED
• At least 1 year of driving experience
