Job summary

San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is hiring Class B licensed Bus Drivers to serve the San Diego community. No experience required; we pay you to train.

Full-time position starting at $28.21 per hour with benefits, vacation, sick time, retirement plans and wellness programs. Responsibilities include safe operation of a public transit bus, route adherence, fare collection, assisting passengers and performing inspections.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.
• Must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Class B license.
• No applicant will be considered with careless traffic violations or irresponsibility.
• Minimum three years of driving experience.
• A copy of the DMV record (three-year report) must accompany application.

Responsibilities

• Operates a public transit bus on assigned route according to schedule.
• Performs pre- and post-trip inspections and reports.
• Collects fares and issues transfers; maintains passenger safety and comfort.
• Assists passengers, including those with disabilities or mobility limitations.
• Maintains cleanliness and reports incidents and schedule adherence.
