San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) is hiring Bus Drivers to serve San Diego daily. No experience required; paid training to achieve Class B license. Starting hourly wage is 28.21 with benefits including medical, dental, and vision for you and your family.

Position is full-time with paid time off, retirement plans, and wellness programs. Candidates should be flexible, customer-focused and able to work varied shifts, including nights and weekends.

Qualifications

• Must possess a high school diploma or GED.
• A valid California driver's license is required at time of application.
• Candidates must have at least three (3) years of driving experience.
• The successful candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain and maintain a valid California Class B license.
• No applicant will be considered whose traffic record reflects irresponsibility or disregard of traffic rules and laws.
• Candidates should demonstrate stable employment, punctuality, good attendance records and a favorable attitude toward public service.
• Candidates must demonstrate ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Drives public transit bus over assigned route according to schedule.
• Maintains a courteous and helpful attitude toward the public.
• Collects fares and issues transfers; answers questions on routes and times.
• Performs pre-departure and bus inspections and reports.
• Assists passengers with wheelchair access and securement.
• Ensures bikes are properly stowed on racks and maintains safety procedures.
