Job Description

Under general supervision, responsible for the safe transportation of the institution's passengers within a city or industrial area.

Schedule: Primarily 6am-11am Monday through Friday. This schedule is subject to shift rotation.

Responsibilities:

• Drives bus to transport passengers over specified routes according to a time schedule.
• Transports staff and students to and from designated locations.
• Maintains passenger log and all emergency equipment, including seat belts, first aid kit, and fire extinguisher.
• Assists and attends to passenger safety and comfort.
• Inspects bus and reports any necessary maintenance or repairs.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Compliant and knowledgeable of all safety guidelines and applicable traffic laws.
• Ability to develop and maintain defensive driving skills and operate a transit bus safely and efficiently.
• Strong sense of direction and thorough knowledge of surrounding area layout and routes.
• Ability to communicate courteously, pleasantly, and professionally.
• Must maintain a good driving record consistent with institutional policy.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED is required.

License & Certification:

• Texas Commercial Driver's License (TCDL) class B is required.
