The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 44,678 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago. The City is currently accepting applications for the position of Part-time Bus Driver. The purpose of this position is to operate a public bus, transporting citizens according to predetermined routes and timetables during hours of 5:45 a.m. – 6:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. Applicants must have flexibility to work split shifts and assume other route assignments as needed.
The work schedule will be a minimum of 20 hours/week, with additional hours as needed to conduct transit services. The schedule will be based on the candidate’s availability, and the employer is willing to work with the right person to accommodate their schedule.
Compensation includes an hourly contractual wage starting at $23.24 at the time of hire, increasing to $24.42 within 6 months, $25.60 within 12 months, $26.62 within 18 months, $27.94 within 24 months, and $29.11 within 30 months (2022 – 2024 wage schedule). Benefits include paid time off; health, life, dental, and vision insurance; long-term disability; 457 and Roth retirement plans; and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, one of the best-funded public employee retirement systems in the country, supported by strong governance and effective investment strategies. Relocation assistance is also available.
The successful candidate will have an excellent driving record and possess a Commercial Driver’s License with Air Brake and Passenger endorsements. Applicants must possess and carry a cell phone to handle transit emergency call-ins.
Applicants will need to send proof of all endorsements. Good customer service skills are required, and previous bus driving experience is preferred.
