Base pay range

$22.00/hr - $22.00/hr

Position Description

Bus drivers transport students to and from field trips and other events in accordance with state traffic and safety regulations and according to Drew Charter School’s schedules. This is a part-time hourly position. There are frequent opportunities for daytime, evenings and weekend work. Hours may also fall within school breaks and summer months. This position reports to the Transportation Coordinator.

This is a part time role that should expect approximately 29 hours per week during a typical school week. Drivers will be assigned one of two schedules based on stated availability.

• Daytime Schedule: These hours will fall primarily within the hours of 6:30am - 4pm, Monday through Friday
• Afterschool & Weekend Schedule: These hours will fall primarily during after school hours and on weekends
  
  
  

Performance Responsibilities

• Transports students to and from school and other events.
• Ensures safety of students while boarding, exiting, and riding the bus.
• Cleans bus by sweeping, taking out trash, and other duties as necessary.
• Inspects safety mechanisms of bus.
• Fuels buses as needed or in the event of an emergency.
• Meets with parents and administration as needed.
  
  
  

Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Ability to operate a bus.
• Strong student management and customer service skills.
• Knowledge and ability to navigate to and from destinations.
• Ability to perform basic math skills including addition and subtraction.
  
  
  

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required
• Be at least 18 years old.

Work Experience

Previous experience as a school bus driver within the past two years required

Certifications

Have a passenger endorsement and a school bus endorsement on your GA commercial driver's license (CDL)
