Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County is hiring a Bus Driver in Fort Worth, TX. You will operate a company vehicle, follow routes, and ensure child safety while supporting youth programs focused on academics, healthy lifestyles, and citizenship.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus experience with youth and the ability to obtain CPR/First Aid certification. Background checks and driving record required. Pay is $14.05 per hour with PTO and holiday pay.

Qualifications

  • Must pass agency background and drug screens.

Responsibilities

  • Operate vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Perform daily vehicle checks (gas, exterior/interior, maintenance).
  • Maintain timeliness and follow the assigned route.
  • Ensure safety for members and staff; enforce safety policies.
  • Report incidents and complete documentation in a timely manner.
  • Maintain discipline and de-escalate conflicts between members.
  • Complete required reports and data entry on time.
  • Use BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively.

Job description

The Bus Driver is responsible for driving, vehicle and child safety, and administrative compliance. At the branches, youth receive targeted services in a safe, supportive environment from staff who believe in the organization’s mission. The Club experience focuses on three priority outcomes: Academic Success, Healthy Lifestyles, and Positive Citizenship.

LVT Branch - 8124 Calmont Dr., Fort Worth, TX 76116

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Accountable for operating vehicle in a safe and efficient manner
  • Accountable for daily checks of vehicle for safe operation and vehicle maintenance such as filling gas tank and cleaning exterior and interior
  • Accountable for timeliness and following the assigned route
Vehicle And Child Safety
  • Accountable for safety while operating vehicle
  • Accountable for adherence to all organizational health and safety policies and implementation of all safety practices and procedures at assigned work location(s)
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect members, staff, equipment, materials, and facilities. Abide by facility maintenance protocols and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Accountable for reporting incidents and completing documentation within the required timeline
  • Maintain discipline, de-escalate conflict between members and/or others
  • Obtain and renew CPR and First Aid certification by deadline
Administrative Compliance
  • Complete all required reports and administrative duties on time.
  • Collect and manage required data and internal and external reporting. Ensure accuracy of data and reporting. Ensure the effective completion of all assessment and measurement activities of programs
  • Comply with all administrative policies and procedures, processes and controls
  • Accountable for accurate and timely paperwork, reports, and data entry
  • Accountable for utilizing all BGCGTC communication tools regularly and effectively
Relationships
  • Be a positive role model
  • Maintain emotional control and make good decisions under pressure
  • Represent the Boys & Girls Club in a positive manner
Attendance
  • Regular attendance is required; arrive on time, work required hours/shift, and leave at the scheduled time

Education and work experience requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience with youth (professional or volunteer)

  • Must be able to pass agency background screens and drug screens at any time
  • The position requires driving a company vehicle. Candidates must have a satisfactory driving record and a valid driver's license for operation of a motor vehicle relevant to carrying out duties and to be covered under the company insurance The requirement is for employees to be a minimum of age 21.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual
  • Experience driving mid to large-sized vehicles such as 15 15-passenger bus
  • Work experience with or program knowledge of the Boys & Girls Club Movement (national and/or local Club) is an advantage
Pay & Benefits
  • Pay: $14.05 per hour
