An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Bus Driver to ensure the safe transportation of students. In this vital role, you will be responsible for driving students to and from school and various appointments, all while maintaining a positive and respectful environment. You'll also oversee the Bus Aide, ensuring safety and order on the bus. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to maintain various records. This position is responsible for transporting students in buses on scheduled trips. This includes transporting students from home to school and return home, to and from providers, and any field trips that are scheduled. The driver is to utilize extreme caution in the loading and unloading of passengers, driving safely and maintaining good behavior by the students on the bus. As the driver, he/she is responsible for the care and maintenance of the vehicle. He/she is responsible for the conduct of the Bus Aide assigned to the bus and should demonstrate courtesy, respect, and a positive attitude when relating to children, parents, and service providers in the course of his/her duties.
Drives the students in a safe and prudent manner whenever the schedule directs.
Maintains good behavior and order on the school bus, ensuring that passengers buckle up while driving.
Directs the work of the Bus Aide.
Maintains various records concerning trips made, situations that occur, parent consents, mileage, maintenance log, and the general care of the vehicle.
Maintains a regular schedule to assure students arrive at school and/or appointments in a timely and coordinated fashion.
Must maintain and service the use of two-way radio and use professional language.
Is accountable for all reports turned in on a daily/weekly basis required for the job. Reports to be given to the clerk for the department.
Must attend all trainings deemed necessary by the Executive Director to comply with TDFPS Child Care of Minimum Standards and Performance Standards.
Adhere to and maintain the obligations as described in the Confidentiality Policies of the agency.
Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or Executive Director.
Minimum Requirements:
APPLICANT IS REQUIRED TO PROVIDE COPIES OF DIPLOMAS AND CERTIFICATES OF ACHIEVEMENTS WITH APPLICATION.
