Job description

Role Mission:

The Bus Driver is responsible for transporting students over scheduled routes to and from various school sites and ensuring the safety of all passengers riding the school bus. Employees in this role operate under general supervision within standard policies and procedures, focusing on passenger safety, including that of special education students, and maintaining the bus in safe operating condition.

• Hourly rate between $19.53 (0 years experience) and $24.42
• Performance bonus based on team performance and goal attainment

What You Bring — Competencies & Qualifications:

• GED or High School Diploma
• Experience with large passenger vehicles or equivalent training; ability to manage student behavior
• Valid CDL with class P and S endorsements
• Completed bus driver safety training
• Over 21 years old
• Pass drug tests and DOT physical

What You’ll Do — Accountabilities:

• Safely operate the bus, adhering to schedules and maintaining order
• Conduct daily safety inspections
• Manage student loading/unloading, ensure safety belts are fastened
• Maintain records and report delays
• Ensure credentials are current and compliant with policies

Additional Requirements:

• Effective communication and feedback acceptance
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to changing circumstances
• Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and a minimum of 32 hours per week
