Suttons Bay Public Schools is hiring a full-time Bus Driver and Maintenance employee. The district will cover CDL training and endorsements, with a schedule Monday through Friday, including mornings and afternoons. The role combines transportation duties with groundskeeping and facility maintenance, requiring a high school diploma and a valid license, plus the ability to pass required checks and tests.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license.
• Background check and MDE physical annually.
• CDL with B, P, S endorsements; cost covered by district.
• Meets Michigan DOE and DOT requirements for driving performance and drug/alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-trip inspections and address maintenance concerns.
• Fuel and clean the bus as needed.
• Assist students with seating and safety devices.
• Provide directions to aides and manage student behavior.
• Communicate with teachers, families, and students.
• Maintain school grounds: mowing, trimming, planting, leaf removal.
• Perform seasonal maintenance such as snow removal and salting.
• Inspect outdoor areas, playgrounds, and athletic fields for safety and cleanliness.
• Assist with outdoor event setup and minor facility maintenance.
• Report repairs or safety concerns promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
