Job summary

South Glens Falls Central School District is seeking a full-time School Bus Driver (8-Hour) in the Transportation Department. You will drive a school vehicle on assigned routes and supervise students during loading and unloading, while maintaining a clean bus and adhering to all state and district rules.

Requirements include a NYS Commercial Driver's License (DMV Article 19A), a good driving record, and completion of required school physicals and instruction.

Qualifications

• Possess or obtain NYS CDL under DMV Article 19A.
• Good driving record and safe operation of school buses.
• Pass state education and school physicals.
• Must attend all required instruction by NYSED.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school vehicle on assigned routes.
• Supervise students’ behavior, loading and unloading of the school bus.
• Wash outside front and rear of bus as necessary and sweep interior.
• Follow all NYS DMV, DOT, State Education and local district rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by Transportation Supervisor/ Superintendent.

• Drive a school vehicle over assigned routes.
• Supervise students’ behavior, loading and unloading of the school bus.
• Wash outside front and rear of bus as necessary and sweep interior.
• Follow all New York State Motor Vehicle and Department of Transportation Laws, State Education and local school district rules and regulations.
• Other duties as assigned by the Transportation Supervisor and the Superintendent or designee.

Salary & Benefits:

• 12-Month Position, 8 Hours/Day; Starting at $36,720 annually. Actual salary commensuratewith experience.

Required Knowledge, Abilities, and Qualifications:
