Job summary

Lyons Central School District is seeking a qualified school bus driver to operate routes and supervise students during loading and unloading. The role requires a valid NYS CDL, fingerprint clearance, and a clean driving record.

You will follow all relevant state laws, district rules, and safety procedures while ensuring punctual, safe transportation for students and compliance with state education requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or higher required.
• Must have or obtain NYS Commercial Driver's License (CDL) under DMV Article 19A.
• Fingerprint clearance required.
• Good driving record.

Responsibilities

• Drive a school vehicle over assigned routes.
• Supervise students' behavior, loading and unloading of the school bus.
• Wash outside front and rear of bus and sweep interior.

• Wash outside front and rear of bus as necessary and sweep interior.
• Follow all New York State Motor Vehicle and Department of Transportation Laws, State Education and local school district rules and regulations.

• Have or obtain a New York State Commercial Driver's License under DMV Article 19A
• Good driving record
• Pass State Education and School physicals
• Must attend all classes of instruction required by New York State Education Department.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
