Job summary

MSAD 75 is seeking a Bus Driver to join our Transportation Department in Topsham, Maine. You will transport students on scheduled routes and field trips, maintaining safety and discipline according to district policies.

A valid Maine CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements and a CHRC background check are required, along with a clean DMV record and ability to read route sheets. The position offers a starting pay rate of $25.83–$26.61 per hour and a $1,500 New Hire Bonus incentive payable

MSAD 75 is seeking a Bus Driver to join our vibrant educational community. Together, we can inspire the next generation of learners and leaders.

PAY RATE: $25.83-$26.61/hour

New Hire Bus Driver Bonus/Incentive: Newly hired bus drivers areeligible for a total hiring bonus/incentive of $1,500 distributed as follows:

• $750 upon successful completion of the 120-working day probationary period
• $750 upon completion of one year of continuous employment

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Transport all passengers including special education students over scheduled routes and/or from special excursions ensuring efficient, safe transport and loading/unloading from the bus.
• Obey all traffic laws and observe all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
• Maintain discipline on the school bus at all times by following MSAD#75 policies and procedures; including, but not limited to: student discipline procedures, field trip guideline and daily reporting requirements.
• Perform daily bus checks as required.
• Implement bus routes and field trips in accordance with assigned schedules.
• Notify the appropriate authorities in cases of mechanical failures, delays or accidents.
• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma, GED/HiSET.
• Valid State of Maine school bus license (CDL license with Passenger & School Bus Endorsements).
• Valid State of Maine Department of Education background check (CHRC) authorization.
• A clean driving record in good standing with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
• Ability to read and correctly interpret route sheets.
• Familiarity with district streets and roads a plus.
• Physical ability to meet primary responsibilities.
• Ability to work well within a team.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Activity Per Shift-

• Standing/Walking: 1-2 hours
• Sitting: 6-8 hours
• Lifting/Carrying: 1-2hours, up to 50 pounds
• Pushing/Pulling/Sliding: 1-2 hours
• Climbing: 1-2 hours
• Bending/Twisting: 3-5 hours
• Kneeling/Crouching/Crawling: 1-2 hours
• Hands/Arms/Finger Dexterity/Hand Gripping: 6-8 hours
