Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Valid Texas commercial driver's license (Class B) with Safety and Passenger Endorsements.
• Must be able to pass required physical examination including alcohol and drug test.
• Must be able to complete required bus driver safety training.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
• Ability to communicate effectively; good interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of student discipline procedures; manage student behavior.
• Clean driving record and safe driving history.

Responsibilities

• Transport students and authorized personnel on assigned routes in a safe, orderly manner.
• Operate and monitor school bus equipment and bus stops.
• Adhere to all traffic laws, district policies, and safety procedures.
• Communicate with dispatch and school staff as needed.
• Maintain discipline and safety on the bus during trips.

Job description

Primary Purpose

Ensure safe and orderly transportation of students on assigned route. Operate school bus that transports students and other authorized personnel to and from schools or other designated location.
