Qualifications

• 1–2 years related experience and/or training.
• Valid Alaska Commercial Driver's License with air brake, passenger, and school bus endorsements (Will assist with CDL if needed).
• Must be 21 years of age or older; pass pre-employment drug/alcohol test; fingerprints must clear.

Responsibilities

• Operate a school bus to transport pupils and authorized personnel to and from schools.
• Inspect bus before each operation and report any mechanical issues.
• Transport and discharge students only at authorized stops.
• Follow district rules, traffic laws, and safety regulations.
• Maintain discipline on the bus and report problems to supervisor.
• Follow assigned route and schedule.
• Perform other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Successfullycompleteandattendalltrainingsessionsasrequired.
• Checksbusbeforeeachoperationformechanicaldefectsandnotifytheproperauthorityincaseofmechanicalfailureorlateness.
• Transportanddischargestudentsonlyatauthorizedstops.
• AdheretoallDistrictrulesandregulations.
• Obeyalltrafficlawsandobserveallmandatorysafetyregulationsforschoolbuses.
• Maintaindisciplinewhenstudentsareonbusandreportproblemstoproperauthority.
• Keepassignedbusclean.
• Followassignedrouteandschedule.
• Performsuchothertasksandassumeotherresponsibilityasthesupervisormayassign.

LENGTH OF POSITION:

7.5 hours per day, 190 days per school year

SALARY:

Range 12 / Step 01. $28.77 per hour
