Role Summary

As a School Bus Driver, you are responsible for the safe and orderly transport of students to and from school and extra-curricular events. Working under the direction of the Transportation Director, you will operate district vehicles in accordance with state laws and district policies. You will serve as a professional ambassador for FFSD, maintaining a positive environment on your bus and ensuring that safety is always the top priority.

  • Certified Operator: You must possess a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a Missouri School Bus Driver’s Permit.

Your Impact (Key Duties)


  • Guardian of the Route: Navigate assigned routes with precision and care, ensuring students are transported in a safe and timely manner.

  • Vehicle Stewardship: Conduct daily operational and safety inspections of the bus as defined by State regulations; keep the interior clean and the tank fueled.

  • Climate Creator: Maintain control of student passengers by promoting a culture of respect and following the safety guidelines outlined in the Transportation Handbook.

  • Communication Link: Assist administrators, teachers, and parents in building a supportive community, reporting any unsafe acts or conditions promptly.

  • Professional Excellence: Complete all required mileage and safety forms accurately and attend departmental meetings to stay current on safety protocols.
