The Sheridan School District is seeking a Bus Driver to safely transport students to and from schools and district activities.
You will perform safety inspections, follow routes and procedures, and communicate with students and staff. This is a substitute, at-will, non-exempt role with flexible hours.
WORK YEAR: 178 days
WORK STATUS: Classified Hourly, Non-Exempt, and At-Will
REPORTS TO: Transportation Supervisor
Responsible for the safe transportation of students to and from schools and in various other district activities. Develops and promotes good community relations among school and community clientele.
Minimum Education or Formal Training: High school graduate preferred/required consistent with district requirements.
Minimum Experience: No prior bus driver experience required.
Age Requirement: Must be 21 years of age.
License or Certification: Must have, or be able to obtain as required by the District, a valid CDL Class B with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements in good standing. Must meet all applicable Colorado requirements for operating a school bus.
Some dust and dirt, fumes and odors, noise, temperature extremes, and potentially hazardous situations.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; significant fine finger dexterity; and the ability to sit, walk, and stand. This job is performed in a generally clean and healthy environment.
Must clear background check through the Colorado Bureau of Investigation (CBI) and the FBI through fingerprint submission, as required by the District.
$26.93 - $38.02/hour. Position is classified non-exempt and is an at-will position with the Sheridan School District.
This is an as-needed substitute position. Eligibility for benefits, leave, and retirement participation is determined in accordance with District policy, applicable collective bargaining agreements, and state and federal law.
