Job description

Description

A fleet doesn't just run well — it has to look the part, every single time it rolls out. That standard doesn't happen by chance; it happens because someone owns it.

The Bus Detailing Manager is responsible for overseeing the cleaning, detailing, and presentation of Adventure Tours' entire fleet of buses — setting the standard, not just meeting it. This position ensures every vehicle reflects our company's standards for cleanliness, appearance, safety, and customer satisfaction, and leads the people who make that happen. The manager oversees detailing staff, coordinates work schedules, conducts quality inspections, maintains inventory of cleaning supplies, and ensures compliance with company policies and safety regulations.

About Us

For over 25 years, Adventure Tours has been a leading provider of luxury motor coach transportation services, headquartered in Accokeek, MD. We've expanded our footprint to include Charlotte, NC, Philadelphia, PA, Long Island, NY, and Richmond, VA — building a fleet, and a reputation, that discerning clients trust for a first-class travel experience.

That reputation rides on presentation as much as it does on the road. We're looking for a leader who takes the same pride in a spotless fleet that our drivers take in a smooth, on-time trip — someone ready to build a team, raise the standard, and make sure every coach we send out says exactly who we are.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Lead and inspire a team of bus detailers and cleaning personnel, setting the tone for quality and accountability.
  • Build and assign daily detailing schedules that keep the entire fleet ready to roll.
  • Conduct thorough pre- and post-detail inspections, holding every vehicle to an uncompromising standard.
  • Oversee complete interior and exterior cleaning — windows, seats, floors, restrooms, luggage compartments, and driver areas — down to the last detail.
  • Champion strict adherence to company safety procedures and environmental regulations.
  • Train, coach, and evaluate detailing staff, sharpening technique and raising the bar on performance.
  • Keep cleaning supplies, equipment, and materials stocked and ready, so the team never misses a beat.
  • Coordinate closely with maintenance and operations teams to align vehicle availability with service schedules.
  • Respond swiftly and professionally to any customer concerns about vehicle cleanliness.
  • Maintain precise records of completed detailing services, employee schedules, and supply usage.
  • Spot and report vehicle damage, maintenance issues, or safety concerns before they become bigger problems.
  • Guarantee every bus is presentation-ready for charter assignments and special events — no exceptions.
  • Roll up your sleeves and join the detailing work whenever the team needs an extra hand.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Additional training in fleet maintenance, vehicle detailing, or supervisory management is a strong plus.
Experience
  • At least 2 years of hands-on vehicle detailing experience.
  • 1–2 years of supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
  • Background in transportation, motor coach, or fleet operations is highly desirable.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong, hands-on leadership and team management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of vehicle cleaning products, equipment, and detailing techniques.
  • Sharp ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • An eye for detail and an unwavering commitment to quality control.
  • Clear, effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Comfort working with inventory management and scheduling systems.
  • Solid knowledge of workplace safety standards and procedures.
Physical Requirements
  • Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Comfortable working both indoors and outdoors, in all kinds of weather.
  • Skilled in operating cleaning equipment, pressure washers, vacuums, and related tools.
Working Conditions
  • Work takes place across bus yards, maintenance facilities, and outdoor environments.
  • Flexibility for evening, weekend, holiday, or on-call availability as operational needs arise.
  • Some exposure to cleaning chemicals, water, noise, and vehicle exhaust comes with the territory.

If you take pride in a job done right and want to lead a team that holds itself to that same standard, we want to hear from you.
