Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
• Prior paraeducator experience or related work preferred but not required.
• Experience with students who have special needs preferred but not required.
• Valid First Aid and/or CPR for infants/children or willing to obtain.
• Prior experience in a K-12 setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid to provide emergency care.
• Assist with preparing materials needed to conduct lessons.
• Provide support or supervision of students during arrival/departure, crosswalk, transit to bus/from bus, recess, meals, hall monitoring, and wheelchair loading/unloading.
• Assist with reporting misconduct on school property or bus routes.
• Assist with light cleaning and setting up activities for students.
• Adhere to district safety policies and program guidelines.
• Assist with diapering, tube feeding, toileting, catheters, and lifting; extra pay per CBA.
• Participate in district meetings to communicate information and gather feedback.
• Distribute documents and materials to staff, students, and parents.
• Assist with supervising students to ensure a safe learning environment.
