Pasco School District No. 1 Transportation in Pasco, WA is seeking a Substitute Non-Instructional Paraeducator - Bus Attendant. The role involves on-call, varied hours and on-site responsibilities supporting bus operations and student safety.

The position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in paraeducator duties and in handling students with special health needs. Fingerprint screening is required for new hires. Salary is $21.73 per hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Prior paraeducator experience preferred but not required.
• Experience working with students who have behavioral or health needs preferred but not required.
• Valid First Aid and/or CPR for infants/children or willingness to obtain.
• Prior experience in a K-12 school setting preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Administers first aid to provide emergency care.
• Provide support or supervision during student arrival and/or departure, including transit to bus and from bus.
• Provides assistance to the bus driver.
• Assists with management of students with special health problems.
• Provide lifting assistance up to 50 pounds unassisted.
• Assist with reporting misconduct and upholding safety policies.
• Participate in District meetings to communicate information and gain feedback.
• Distribute documents to staff, students and/or parents.
• Assist with supervision to ensure a safe and productive learning environment.
