Job Summary: To support safe student transportation by assisting bus drivers with managing and caring for students during transit, boarding, and disembarking.

Responsibilities Include:
  1. Assist students with entering and exiting the bus safely.
  2. Secure students using seat belts, car seats, or wheelchair restraints as needed.
  3. Model positive behavior, demonstrating good morals and integrity.
  4. Monitor passengers to ensure safety regulations and conduct rules are followed.
  5. Manage student behavior through communication and discipline per company policy.
  6. Report violations or concerns to the appropriate authority.
  7. Assist in emergency evacuations if necessary.
  8. Ensure children take their belongings when leaving the bus.
  9. Help keep the interior of the vehicle clean and presentable.
  10. Complete and submit required paperwork promptly.
  11. Maintain professional and ethical behavior, fostering goodwill with colleagues, parents, and school personnel.
  12. Present a neat and professional appearance.
  13. Report on time and perform all duties safely.
  14. Attend training, safety meetings, and in-service sessions.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Compensation and Benefits: Pay rate of $19.25/hour, with paid training at the same rate. Employees receive paid holidays, accrue paid time off, and are eligible for medical benefits (including dental and eye care) and a 401(k) plan.

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must meet physical and medical requirements.
  • Successfully complete all training and attend safety and in-service meetings to remain qualified.
  • High attention to detail and dexterity for handling restraints and securing wheelchairs.
  • Ability to relate well to children and manage pupil behavior effectively.
  • High professionalism and diplomacy when working with students, parents, and school staff.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lift and assist students as needed.
