Job summary

Odyssey Charter School in Wilmington, Delaware is seeking a Transportation Bus Aide to support the bus driver by helping supervise students, manage loading and unloading, and ensure safety at every stop.

The role requires the ability to work as part of a team, communicate clearly with students, parents and staff, and comply with district rules. This 10-month, part-time position reports to the Transportation Supervisor.

Qualifications

• Applicant must be 19 years of age.
• Good general intelligence and ability to relate to students.
• Strong communication and reliable punctuality.

Responsibilities

• Understand the route and monitor the welfare of passengers.
• Assist in loading and unloading of passengers and ensure seating orderly.
• Cooperate with school staff, students and parents; attend safety meetings.
• Assist students in a wheelchair and apply safety devices as needed.
• Help ensure students cross streets safely and remain seated after boarding.
