Job summary

Centro de la Familia is seeking a Bus Aide in Colorado to support the Bus Driver by supervising children, ensuring safety, and accurately signing in/out riders on the daily logs. The role emphasizes calm, respectful interactions and adherence to safety procedures.

The Bus Aide will follow the center's curriculum to support age-appropriate learning activities, assisting with children with special needs when trained, and promoting a positive bus climate.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Completion of 4 hours of training required before starting bus duties.
• Entry-level position: no prior education or experience required.
• High School Diploma or GED is highly desirable.
• Must currently hold or be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Food Handler’s Permit.
• Bilingual in Spanish and English is a plus.
• Physical requirement to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bus Driver in supervising children and ensuring safety on the bus.
• Ensure accurate sign-in and sign-out of each child and submit logs weekly.
• Safely load and unload children using proper seat harness procedures.
• Maintain accountability and ensure no child is left behind.
• Conduct a post-trip inspection and ensure bus cleanliness and sanitation.
• Foster a warm, respectful environment and model good language.
• Support learning activities aligned with curriculum and School Readiness Plan.
• Handle disciplinary issues calmly and without shouting or threats.
