Job summary

YWCA Central Massachusetts in Worcester, MA is seeking a Bus Aide for a part-time daytime schedule. The role runs Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 3:00pm, and supports classroom programming while upholding the Center's developmental and safety standards.

Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma or equivalent, be at least 18 years old, and have experience with children. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and engage with families from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Communicate any out of ordinary information regarding the children to the classroom teacher.
• Perform other duties as requested by the supervisor.

Job Title: Bus Aide

Reports to: Childcare Center Director

Schedule: Part time, Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 3:00pm

Job Summary:

Assist in managing the ongoing programming in assigned classroom(s) in a professional and confidential manner and in a way which incorporates the developmental/culturally sensitive philosophy of the Center to ensure the highest quality of care, as well as compliance with NAEYC standards, DEEC requirements, and health and safety regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Assist in implementing a curriculum and maintaining an environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace, as well as interact comfortably with adults.
• Supervise children in play and structured activities.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment for children; performing light housekeeping duties as needed.
• Communicates any out of ordinary information regarding the children to the classroom teacher.
• Perform other duties as requested and tasks as assigned by supervisor.
