RSU 14 Transportation in Windham, ME is seeking a Bus Aide for full-time hours (~30 per week) to assist bus drivers and support student safety and conduct, ensuring a positive rider experience.

Responsibilities

• Ensures students board and exit in an orderly fashion.
• Attend workshops dealing with student transportation as requested.
• Collects and turns over to the school secretary personal items left on the bus by students.
• Performs other duties reasonably requested by the bus driver, Special Education Team/Coordinator, or Transportation Supervisor.

Job Description

Looking for a full time (30 +/- hours weekly) Bus Aide to assist bus drivers in maintaining safety and good student conduct with a positive experience for riders and driver. Proven ability to interact with special needs students, physically handicapped, autistic and behavior challenged students

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assists the bus driver in maintaining good student conduct on the bus
• Assists young or disabled student in getting on and off the bus
• Secures car seats, wheelchairs, and other articles that may cause injury
• Assures that students get on and off the bus in an orderly fashion
• Attend workshops dealing with student transportation as requested
• Collects and turns over to the school secretary those personal items left on the bus by students
• Performs such other duties that may be reasonably requested from time-to-time by the bus driver, Special Education Team/Coordinator, or Transportation Supervisor

Special Knowledge / Skills
